Influenced by his innovative jewelry creations as a trained goldsmith and jewelry designer, he developed his own artistic work in parallel. The materiality gives Malzach's pictures a unique character. The painting surface is mainly sheet iron, which complements the image design through oxidation. His pictures are figurative with abstract overlays. He works analogously with brushes and combines his work with digital techniques. In recent years, he has created more and more sculptures from metal and, working with a chainsaw, also from wood.
