Yasin Isanc, born in 1991, is a painter and lecturer from Basel. In addition to his artistic work in his Basel studio, he teaches at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Design Film Art and at the Zurich School of Art and Design. After training as a scientific illustrator at Zurich University of the Arts, he completed a Master of Arts FHNW in Art and Design Education. During his training, he developed a deep fascination for painting. This enthusiasm has stayed with Yasin Isanc ever since and has become a constant companion in his life.

In his artistic work, Yasin Isanc primarily focuses on the medium of oil painting. His work is inspired by colors, shapes, and rhythms from observed reality, which he recomposes in the compositional pictorial space. Attentive observation of his environment and the collection of aesthetic moments play just as important a role as their artistic interpretation and processing. With deliberately chosen image details and nuanced light and color moods, he opens up the possibility for the viewer to encounter the supposedly familiar from a new and unfamiliar perspective.
