NITHAH & MICHAEL STÖCKLIN

Duality V2

Nithah and Michael photograph the simultaneity of creation and myth. With just a few photos, they allow us to share in this fascinating experience.

"Duality" deals with the lawfulness of duality. It occurs everywhere in nature and in everyday life. Duality is a driving force. It connects two opposing poles to create something new.

Building on the "Duality" project from 2016, they developed this idea further and ventured further into a sharply formulated visual language of passion with their photography, which generates a unique beauty and mysticism through bodies planted in the landscape.

The volcanic ash and lava crusts of the island of Lanzarote provided them with the ideal setting for the encounter between people, emotions, and landscape.

The photographers now add to the indifferent space the tremendous power of cooled lava flows in a primeval landscape reheated by the sun. At dawn, bodies seem to suddenly nestle around the encrusted stone, attempting to take shape or even rise above what was once the interior of our earth.

Nithah and Michael succeeded in creating a photographic cycle of highly elaborate archaism on Lanzarote.
