Silja Jocher

The shape in between

The works of 30-year-old artist Silja Jocher, who has lived in this city for a decade, move between surrealism and reality, between dreams and wakefulness. With a masterful combination of painting and drawing, she creates works of art that are characterized by impressive depth and complexity. Oil on canvas, acrylic paints, and mixed media merge in her works to form an expressive visual language that is both intimate and universal.

The artist manages to transcend the boundaries of reality and transport the viewer into surreal worlds. Figures, shapes, and symbols seem to come from another dimension, yet at the same time invite reflection on one's own reality. The precise lines of the drawings meet the soft, flowing layers of color in the paintings, creating a tense dialogue between control and chance.

Each work tells its own story and invites the viewer to fill in the narrative gaps. The surreal elements in her paintings, often tinged with a touch of humor or melancholy, make it clear that reality is multi-layered and subjective. Her art is a play between the visible and the invisible, an invitation to see the world through different eyes.

In her work, the artist combines technical precision with unbridled imagination. Her works are not only visual experiences, but also emotional journeys that create space for interpretation and personal associations.
