Paul Stebler's artistic work is inspired by his observations of everyday life, the media, and films. He focuses in particular on the expression of the standing female figure in her own unique, individual posture: waiting, talking on the phone, drinking.
He loves to explore different nuances of standing in the tension between dynamics and statics, capturing the smallest possible movements and presenting them in a meaningful way. In doing so, he usually shows the figure alone, reduced to its presence, in order to emphasize the essence of being human.
The emphasis is sometimes on gestures, with subtle hints evoking moments and situations from everyday life, accompanied by narrative and poetic tones.
