Robert Rickli's objects hang, stand, swing, or rotate. Rust and surfaces altered by erosion are characteristic of all objects.
Functions arise randomly bycombining various found objects. The material inaccuracies of the works create counterpoints to the precisionof our everyday lives.
Almost all of the metal parts come from the Rhine and the Ouvèze river in Haute-Provence. The works are screwed, riveted, glued, and also welded. Some of the found objects are of recent origin, but others date back further, as the metal parts only become visible when the Rhine is low .
